Wise Words from Winnie the Pooh:
Ways to Engage Your Kids Before Seeing the New Christopher Robin Movie in Theaters
Some of our favorite literary characters are back in live action in the new film, Christopher Robin, opening this Friday and we are so excited to revisit these timeless pals! Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore are back with a tale that will delight the young and not-so-young alike. But before you go see the film, share some inspirational lessons from the classic honey-eating, “silly old bear” and his friends with your kids, and maybe even entice them with a classic storybook:
“A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference.”
It never hurts to remind ourselves to look at things from someone else’s point of view or go out of our way to do something nice for someone else, like the time Piglet offered Pooh all the tea and honey he could want until he felt more “Pooh-like.”
“Think it over, think it under.”
A new perspective to a problem never hurts! When it seemed like no one could get Pooh unstuck from Rabbit’s house, Rabbit thought the problem through, grabbed some friends and they “heave-hoed” until Pooh was launched from the hole.
“Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day.”
In our modern world, we can get lost in the hustle and bustle of even a typical day. Pausing to take a breath and being grateful for being right where you are can be fundamental in making sure you stay relaxed and focused on your goals.
For these stories and more in anticipation of the film’s release, here are some of our favorite Winnie the Pooh books to dive into with your little reader!
