Book Trust serves children in U.S. schools that have high populations of poverty as measured by the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).
NSLP determines the number of children eligible for free and reduced price lunch (FRL) at schools across the country.
Book Trust-program schools, generally:
- Meet standards for FRL at a rate of 70% or higher
- Serve students in elementary grades: Pre K – 5
- Feature administration and staff who demonstrate an appreciation for the importance of access to books—and its impact on literacy skills—and are motivated to commit on average 1.5 hours per month to implement the program
If your school meets these basic eligibility criteria . . .
